Early Access
It’s done. After years of effort, Betrayed in the Wild is complete. After several tweaks, the editing, interior formatting, and cover design are all finalized. It’s been quite the journey to reach this point, so let's quickly look back.
Coming May 13th
Mark your calendars! May 13th marks the release date of Betrayed in the Wild.
I started a publishing company
Last week marked a pivotal moment in my self-publishing adventure – the creation of my very own publishing company, C&F Alpine Publishing. Now, I know, not every self-publisher takes this approach, but trust me, there's a reason to do this.
Getting Closer
GETTING CLOSER
Another month has gone by, and things have happened.
I got the flu; that’s what happened.
Despite that, the book is progressing. Since the last update, there have been two additional rounds of editing. That boosted my confidence enough to invite a round of beta readers. If you are unsure of what a beta reader is, just like I was before I started this process, take a look at the below definition from Reedsy.
The Cover is Done
Exciting news: the cover for "Betrayed in the Wild" is now complete!
This cover underwent several revisions, most of them created by me. During this process, I came to the realization that my graphic design skills aren't my strong suit. So I looked for a professional.
Edits, Edits, and More Edits
In the past month, I've been fully immersed in the editing process, making significant changes to my work. These include a new beginning and ending, as well as enriching character backgrounds, all aimed at making the story more captivating for readers.
Book Cover Ideas
Initially, I was uncertain about the direction for my book cover. Should it feature a mountain landscape? A women in the woods? A plane crash? Honestly, I’m still all over the place.
The Physical Details
I had never printed a book before, but I wanted to hold my manuscript in my hands. You can find all the reasons for this in my previous post, so I won't delve into them here.
Virtual vs. Tangible
Online vs In-Hand.
I may be old school but there’s something different between holding something in your hand vs seeing it online.
