Creating the AudioBook

Technology is evolving fast—almost too fast to keep up! When I first released Betrayed in the Wild, I wanted to create an audiobook, but the costs were too high. My only option back then was to hire a voice actor, which, unfortunately, wasn’t in my budget. And honestly, it still isn’t.

But AI? That’s a different story.

I’ve experimented with AI voiceovers before, using ElevenLabs to create promo videos for my book. While the results were acceptable for short clips, the technology wasn’t quite there for anything longer. It was decent—but not great.

That changed recently.

Today, I visited ElevenLabs and discovered their new audiobook module. Naturally, I had to try it out—and I’m impressed. It generates a full audiobook with unique voices for each character, making the narration far more engaging. Really cool stuff.

If you’re curious, I’ve uploaded Chapter 1 to YouTube (embedded below). I’ll be releasing a few more chapters on my channel, but my goal is to publish the full audiobook on Audible or a similar platform.

Let me know what you think!
